Born in May 1938, Sutherland went on to get a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University he later went on to get a master's degree in electrical engineering from Caltech and even later he got a doctorate in electrical engineering from MIT. With all that experience he went on to win the A.M. Turing Award in 1988 which is the highest honor in computer science. Sutherland is mainly known for his invention Sketchpad which allows you to draw in real time electronically. He also co-founded Evans and Sutherland with his friend David C. Evans, they pioneered real-time hardware, accelerated 3D computer graphic and even printer languages. By far the most interesting thing he did was making the First VR headset which is mind blowing because he made it in 1968 which is just crazy to think about, he could already make a VR headset at that time.
